El P-LIB, con la República Libre de Liberland

Escudo de LiberlandENGLISH VERSION FURTHER DOWN.

The Spanish Libertarian Party, with the Free Republic of Liberland

The Spanish Libertarian Party (P-LIB) hereby expresses its political support to the Free Republic of Liberland in its path to consolidate as a new European micro-state. P-LIB reminds the public that, according to international law, Liberland is located in terra nullius or «no man’s land» (neither in Serbian nor Croatian territory). Therefore, P-LIB rejects Croatian incursions and the two illegal arrests so far imposed onto the President of the Republic, Vít Jedlička, and other people.

P-LIB also reminds European Union member states, and particularly Croatia, that, under the provisions of the Arbitration Commission of the Peace Conference on Yugoslavia of 1991 (the Badinter Committee), they have all ratified the definition of a sovereign state as set by the Montevideo Convention of 1933. The Free Republic of Liberland fulfils all criteria as adopted by the countries signatory to both agreements, as it has a permanent population, a defined territory and a government with diplomatic capacity. Therefore, and according to article 3 of the Montevideo Convention, Liberland is a completely sovereign country, with or without third party acknowledgement.

Competition between types of society and their political and economic organization paradigms allows to show which ideas work and which ones make us poorer. If some countries and territories are accused of being «tas havens», that’s only because the rest of them are true tax hells. The less state, the more prosperity.

P-LIB shows its gladness to see that Jedlička and his supporters have found a territory with an appropriate international juridical status to set up a new country, made up of people from around the world who wish to live free. The Libertarian Party hereby urges the Spanish Government and the international community to recognize Liberland and to quickly set diplomatic relations.

The Libertarian Party has assigned its member Andreas Kohl, formerly provincial head at Toledo and currently living in Central Europe, to set up a fluent liaison with the authorities of Liberland. P-LIB offers itself to cooperate with the said authorities towards any interests they may need to pursue in Spain. P-LIB formally invites President Jedlička to pay a visit to our country. Furthermore, P-LIB shall also promote Liberland’s rights and interests before its partners in the International Alliance of Libertarian Parties (IALP).

The President of the Spanish Libertarian Party, Juan Pina, has today stated that «just like our party, Liberland is an example of a peaceful struggle for economic, social, cultural and political Liberty«. In this respect, he’s gone on, «if Liberland achieves its goals, that victory will be very substantial for the advancement of peace and prosperity worldwide. On the contrary, if that struggle is suffocated by statism, the enemies of Liberty will have won and advance one step in the direction of  the political and economic centralization already alienating us all».
